NSMQ 2025: Seeded Schools Return as One-Eighth Stage Draw Promise Fierce Intellectual Battles

Following five days of preliminary contests filled with suspense, upsets, disqualification and thrilling comebacks, the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) has moved into a decisive new phase, the one-eighth stage.
With the dust settling after the prelims, 27 seeded schools from last year’s competition are returning to the stage to face off against this year’s top-performing qualifiers. The ballot has been completed, producing exciting pairs that promise to test wits, strategy and endurance as the race for national supremacy intensifies.
Set to take place from October 26–28, 2025, this stage marks a pivotal point in the championship. Every question will now carry greater weight and only the winners will advance to the quarter-finals, edging closer to the coveted NSMQ trophy.
