Kasoa, Central Region, Ghana — Several people are feared dead and numerous others injured following a severe road accident near the Kasoa tollbooth on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The crash involved a fully-loaded Sprinter mini-bus and a reversing Jeep 4×4.

Eyewitnesses say the Sprinter (registration GW 7455-18), travelling toward Kasoa, crashed into the rear of the Jeep (registration GR 7673) that was reportedly reversing on the highway. The impact caused the bus to somersault multiple times before coming to rest in a mangled state. Some occupants reportedly died instantly, while others were trapped in the wreckage and later extracted by rescue teams.

One detained patient faced critical delays transferring from the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic to a higher-level facility because no major health facility was immediately available.

At the time of reporting, authorities had not issued official figures for the number of casualties or confirmed cause of the accident.

While the exact number of accidents at the toll booth in recent months is not publicly verified, independent studies indicate the Kasoa–Cape Coast corridor accounts for a large share of collisions in the Central Region. Road-safety analysts mention that the toll-booth stretch remains a high-risk location for crashes.
