Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, Deputy Communications Minister Mohammed Adams Sukparu Involved in Road Accident
Accra, Ghana- Education Minister Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were in a convoy accident on Tuesday on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road.
A statement from the Minister for Education's office on 12 February 2026 said both ministers are stable and getting the medical care they need.
The statement indicated that, earlier that day, the ministers and their respective teams were en route to official engagements marking the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education in the Upper West Region when the accident occurred.
All those in the convoy are stable and getting the medical care they need, the statement said.
The Office of the Minister expressed appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public who provided swift assistance following the incident. It added that further updates would be communicated as necessary.
The incident has drawn public concern due to the ministers’ prominent roles, but confirmation of their stable conditions has provided reassurance.
