Washington, D.C- U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a new visa scheduling system specifically for the 2026 FIFA World Cup during a White House event on Monday 17, November 2025, Speaking alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino in the Oval Office, Trump outlined the FIFA PASS, a program aimed at expediting visa applications for international ticket-holders attending next summer’s tournament.

The FIFA Prioritized Appointment Scheduling System will help reduce the waiting period for visa applicants traveling to the U.S. for the World Cup. Infantino estimated that between five and ten million people are expected to attend.

However, officials emphasized that the system does not guarantee entry to the United States. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that while ticket-holders will receive fast-tracked appointments, they will still undergo the standard visa vetting process. Previously, visa appointments in many countries could take over a year; under FIFA PASS, applicants in countries like Brazil and Argentina can now secure an appointment in less than two months. The Trump administration has added 400 additional consular officers to help handle the increased volume.

Rubio stressed: “Your ticket is not a visa. It does not guarantee U.S. entry; it only ensures a faster appointment.”

FIFA reported that tickets have been purchased in over 212 countries, with more than six million tickets available for the tournament. Despite high prices, demand has been strong as fans look to secure seats for football’s premier event.
