Accra, Ghana - Ghana’s Black Queens have sealed qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following a dominant 7-0 aggregate win against Egypt. The team wrapped up their qualification campaign in style with a 4-0 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Having already claimed a 3-0 win in the first leg in Ismailia, the Queens delivered a great performance at home to confirm their place at the continental event in Morocco. After a goalless opening half, Doris Boaduwaa broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute and added a second just three minutes later.
Comfort Yeboah extended the lead in the 57th minute with a stunning strike , her first goal for the senior national team. Boaduwaa completed her hat trick in stoppage time, finishing off a neat assist from Stella Nyamekye to round off a convincing win for Ghana.
The result represents a significant milestone for head coach Kim Lars Björkegren and his squad, who had to overcome uncertainty surrounding unpaid bonuses in the buildup to the match. Despite the distractions, the Queens produced one of their most confident and cohesive performances in recent months.
With qualification secured, the Black Queens will now shift focus to preparations for the 2026 WAFCON tournament in Morocco, where they will aim to reclaim continental glory.
