Ghana Marks 40 Days Since the Passing of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka
Scores of mourners gathered in solemn remembrance and reverence as the nation marked the 40th-day commemoration of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the revered industrialist, spiritual leader, inventor, and philanthropist who passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 77.
The commemorative service, held at the University of Ghana Sports Complex, drew mourners from across the country and abroad, all paying tribute to a man whose life’s work left an indelible mark on Ghana’s industrial, agricultural, technological, and spiritual development.
Apostle Safo, affectionately called the “Star of Africa,” is being remembered not only as the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana but also as a visionary whose pioneering innovations and unwavering belief in African self-reliance inspired generations.
From manufacturing the Kantanka Omama SUV, Onantefo pickup truck, and various industrial machines under the Kantanka Group of Companies, to advancing agricultural innovation and nurturing homegrown engineering talent, Apostle Safo’s legacy remains a testament to what can be achieved when vision meets determination.
His spiritual leadership also transformed lives. Under his guidance, the Kristo Asafo Mission grew into a powerful religious and social movement, instilling in its members values of discipline, innovation, and unity rooted in faith.
A symbolic rainbow appeared in the skies on October 20, a phenomenon many members of the Kristo Asafo Mission interpreted as a divine sign a reminder of Apostle Safo’s enduring spiritual presence as the nation observed the 40th day since his passing.
Among the notable attendees was Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who joined family, clergy, and dignitaries in celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of Apostle Safo.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka will forever be remembered as a pioneer of Ghanaian industry and innovation the man who proved that Africa can create, build, and inspire through its own ingenuity.
