Ghana Air Traffic Engineers Suspend Strike.

Accra-Ghana, The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Engineers Association (GhATSEA) has suspended its planned strike, which was expected to begin today, October 30, following successful discussions with the management and governing board of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).In a statement signed by the association’s president, David Annan Mensah, GhATSEA said the decision came after “constructive engagement” that gave hope for a lasting resolution to their concerns.

“Following constructive engagement with the GCAA governing board and management, we have decided to suspend our planned strike action, which was scheduled to take effect from 30th October 2025,” the statement read.

The association expressed appreciation to all parties who participated in the talks and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety, reliability, and professional standards of air navigation services across the country.

GhATSEA also commended the Acting Director-General of the GCAA, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, and the Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical), Theophilus Aryee Ago, for their commitment and collaborative approach during negotiations.

Additionally, the group extended gratitude to the media, the aviation community, and the general public for their patience and understanding throughout the period of uncertainty.

GhATSEA reiterated its pledge to continue working closely with the GCAA to maintain the safe and efficient management of Ghana’s airspace while addressing outstanding issues through dialogue and mutual respect.
